  This is what we worked on in class

 Today in class we discussed how to analyze diction. For the first step you select the word or words, The definition of diction is word choice. Step two is determining the denotation and the connotation of the word. After determining, step three is determine if the connotation is positive, neutral or negative. And step four is discuss how the word creates an effect on the audience. 

 Today in class we went over metaphors and analogy. We went over some example and had a class discussion. Today was a chill day for all my classes, in Spanish we did flash cards for pronouns and did a kaboot. In Rotc we went over basic knowledge and reviewed. Today was a good day honestly. 

 On Thursday 1-13-22 I was absent because I had to take a covid test. 

  Today in class we went over rhetoric analysis and analyzed the “I have a dream speech”. In this speech I learned it has a lot of rhetorical devices and rhetorical appeals. In third period we reviewed the scientific method and also did a worksheet. In first period I completed my comic book and turned it in. Today was a really chill day. 

Today in class we discussed rhetoric, hyperbole, understatement, litotes, antithesis & Hypophora. Rhetoric is a tool that enhances composition. It’s purpose is to persuade, inform and express a personal thought. Hyperbole is an exaggeration which there are 3 different types of. An understatement is a descriptive statement that is less than one would expect. For example, Cedar grove football team is horrible. Today was also the first day back since being on break and I like my 3rd block but I might change my 2nd block. Other than that today was a very basic day
