Today in class I learned how to identify and describe components of rhetorical situations. I learned that there are 8 components in a rhetorical situation. I am able to identify the exigence (the issue), speaker, context, purpose, text, message, the different audience and the genre.

Today in class we discussed how to analyze diction. For the first step you select the word or words, The definition of diction is word choice. Step two is determining the denotation and the connotation of the word. After determining, step three is determine if the connotation is positive, neutral or negative. And step four is discuss how the word creates an effect on the audience.
